Jessica + David

The longest day of the year brought plenty of sunshine for Jessica and David’s wedding last Saturday.  They were married at the Jewel Box in Forest Park, with a reception at Windows off Washington.  When the sun finally set, we got some great shots off the balcony overlooking the city (Jessica gets credit for that idea!)  The newlyweds are enjoying some rest and relaxation in Michigan this week – best wishes to them both upon their return to real life!

Ashley + Adam Engagement

Ashley and Adam were so much fun to photograph this Sunday at the Delmar Loop.  I’ve never shot an engagement portrait there before, but it was the perfect setting for these two.  We got a few inquisitive glances from people who were wandering about (particularly as Adam was dipping Ashley in the street), and I think someone even cheered them on at one point as they were smooching.  But these two were not camera shy, which made it really easy to get great photos.  They are in the process of moving to New York City this week, but they’ll be back to get married this October – I can’t wait for the wedding!

Six Eighty Three What?

I get asked all the time – “What does the 683 stand for?”  No, it isn’t an address, phone number, or random photographic term.  It stands for June 1983.  More specifically, June 19, 1983 – my birthday.  That’s right, I’m turning 25 today.  And to celebrate, I finally made my way over to the Cupcakery to have a tasty cupcake (pictured to the right.)  I’ve heard they are fantastic, and I can’t wait to taste one (or two…or three…)  Yum!  So if I don’t answer the phone or email today, its probably because I am in a buttercream-induced coma.  I’ll get back to you when the deliciousness wears off :)

Don’t trust your Google!

So a client of mine recently Googled my name looking for my email address.  What she ended up with was a link to a “nighttime connoisseur,” which she forwarded on to me for a laugh.  If you’ve ever Googled my name, you’ve probably seen that site, as well as sites for a Tracy Lee that does nude-self portraits, a couple of random designers, and even a burlesque dancer.  I don’t come up in the search until – well, maybe never.  I gave up after the 250th result.  I’ve known about this issue for a while, and clients have even mentioned that they were hesitant to meet with me after seeing a couple of these search results.  Apparently there are a lot of Tracy Lees out there, many of whom are doing somewhat risque things.

Moral of the story:  No, I am not that Tracy Lee.

I envy those of you with unique names.  I doubt anyone falsely believes you to be an exhibitionist :)

Sara + Dave

Sara and Dave had a garden ceremony in Tower Grove park last weekend with a reception at La Chateau in  Frontenac.  I think most of their family had camera envy – several of them were asking me what I was shooting with, and I overheard a few comments about the size of my lens.  Dave’s mom even caught a few shots of me throughout the night with her camera (despite my best attempts to hide.)  You have to love people who value photography!  Congrats to them, and I hope they are having a great time on their honeymoon in Vegas!
