Anne + Adam

Anne and Adam were married at Eliot Chapel in Kirkwood this past Saturday.  While this chapel is very nice, and well lit, it posed quite a challenge to photograph.  The giant windows at the front of the church provided some significant backlighting for the 3pm ceremony, and just outside the window was a bright red mini van parked in a neighbors’ driveway.  It was a challenge to shoot (no one wants a minivan in their ceremony photos!), but I think I pulled it off in the end.  The ceremony went very smoothly, and the reception at the St. Louis Zoo went according to plan as well.  In fact, everything went so smoothly all day long that when we couldn’t take photos with the polar bears at the zoo (they were hiding in there somewhere) Anne commented “Well, something had to go wrong!”  It was a good day for these guys – which is good because they waited 11 years for it!  You can see the SLIDESHOW HERE.  Thanks for being so relaxed and fun Anne and Adam – congratulations!

Holiday Deadlines

I realize it isn’t even Halloween yet, but the holidays are quickly approaching (if your radio has landed on 101.1FM since October 1st you may have noticed the nonstop holiday music has already begun!)  That said, deadlines are also coming up quickly.  In order to have the following items arrive by December 23rd, they must be ordered by the following deadlines:

Wedding Albums - November 15th

Parent Books and Coffee Table Books – December 1st

Print Orders – December 10th

To have holiday cards arrive by December 15th (giving you time to send them), they need to be ordered by December 1st.  If you haven’t already scheduled a portrait session to have photos for your holiday card – what are you waiting for?!  Contact me to schedule one!

Angela + Tyler Engagements

I think Angela stalked the weather report for about a week to figure out if it would rain for their portrait session on Friday.  We decided day-of that despite the cloudiness, it would be a good day to shoot in Faust Park and headed off.  Unfortunately, we only had about 15 minutes of patchy sunshine until it started raining on us.  We were trapped on the front porch of one of the old houses for a bit until we decided to head back out to shoot quickly before it started raining harder.  It’s a good thing cloudy days make for the best lighting!  Thanks for tolerating a little rain, guys!

Laura + Bryan Engagements

It’s definitely fall around here.  Poor Laura had a dress on at first, and with that wicked wind that was blowing through Forest Park, I think she was completely freezing.  Thankfully they had a second outfit with sweaters and jeans so we could keep going.  All of you who still have portrait sessions to come this fall, keep that in mind!  We found a few more trees with color than there were last week, so you can actually tell it is October in their photos.  Laura and Bryan are both really nice, and so easy to work with.  I’m sure their wedding next year will be just as great!

Ashley + Adam

When I arrived at Windows On Washington for Adam and Ashley’s wedding this weekend I almost didn’t recognize them – they’ve both had some serious haircuts!  They looked fantastic, and very ’20s.  We had planned to go outside for some photos near the City Museum, but it started raining at just the wrong time.  Instead, we took their portraits inside, and I think they turned out fantastic.  I knew from their engagement session that these guys were easy to work with, but I forgot just how fun they were to shoot.  Ashley has some serious model-like qualities in how she moves and changes her expression for each shot.  It didn’t take much to get some great shots!  These guys live in New York, so I don’t think I’ll get to see them again soon.  I wish them all the best!
