Mindy + Matt

I had never met either Mindy or Matt on their wedding day – that was a first for me!  I worked with Mindy’s Mom before the wedding because the couple lives in New York, so the day of I had to introduce myself (after I sorted out who they were!)  They were married at the Graham Chapel on Washington University’s campus with a reception at Windows on Washington.  At the reception they gave everyone an Absinthe shot instead of champagne for the toasts (they met in Prague, so it seemed fitting.)  I think maybe they should have warned everyone what they were drinking before they took the shot, though.  There were a lot of audible groans in response to the flavor :)  They also seemed to dislike slow dancing.  After about 10 seconds of their first dance, Matt busted out a matador outfit and Mindy ran at him like a bull as the song “Matador” played.  And for the father-daughter dance they spent about 10 seconds slow dancing before they broke into “Footloose.”  It was all pretty entertaining – you can view their SLIDESHOW HERE.  It was nice meeting you guys finally – best wishes!

Angela + Sean Engagements

I love when couples like old run-down stuff as much as I do :)  Angela and Sean liked the more urban stuff I’ve been doing, so we wandered around downtown for some cool backdrops.  I’ve never seen someone so excited to sit in front of a pile of scrap wood – it was great!  We also took some photos at Angela’s grandfather’s house for good measure, which had some pretty fall colors.  I think they are my last engagement session for a while – thanks for making it so fun, guys!

Ivy Hill

Ivy Hill is a boutique just opening in the Central West End.  They needed some promotional images for their website and various things, so I basically just played around in the store for a few hours taking photos.  The owner, Hillary, has stocked the place with some cool accessories and clothes and all kinds of fun random stuff.  I couldn’t leave without getting myself a t-shirt (it has a yogi on it and says “enlightenment rocks :)” – I’m a sucker for yoga shirts!)  The store is now open off Maryland and Euclid – go check them out!
