Travel photos: Oslo

Here are some shots from the second city I visited on my vacation, Oslo, Norway.  I think the most beautiful parts we saw of Norway were from the ferry boat we took up the fjord into the city, and from the high speed train we took through Norway into Sweden.  Too bad I couldn’t get good images from the deck of the boat or the very fast train :)  Here’s just a few from the city itself, including the Viking Ship Museum and the Sculpture Park.  And although I don’t like to post photos of myself (the whole self-conscious photographer thing), I did include just one of my sister and I.  Pretty much every photo I have of me with anyone is a “self-portrait” shot like this – what can I say, I guess I’m a control freak.

More to come!

Engagement Giveaway – UPDATE

I’ve decided to extend the deadline for the Engagement Giveaway (posted below.) You all now have until August 25th to send me your stories. I’m also broadening the scope to include proposal stories. So send me your best! At the request of the “single friend” I mentioned in the post, she will be helping to judge the winners, so I hope to have a good variety to share with her. Can’t wait to read them!

Travel photos: Copenhagen

I’m back from my vacation, and almost over the jet lag.  My sister and I had a fantastic time on our trip, and here’s the first installment of my travel photos – starting with Copenhagen, Denmark.

Copenhagen was my favorite of the four cities we visited.  As cities go, it has some charisma.  Many of the photos are from the waterfront – we spent a lot of time on boats during our trip.  The one from above is from the top of the church with the gold top.  That’s a spiral staircase on the outside of the spire, which is rather unique, and a bit scary to climb up.  The next few are from the royal palace and king’s gardens and some random shots around the city, followed by the Little Mermaid statue (world famous for some reason, but highly overrated), and some shots of the also world famous Tivoli Gardens amusement park.  I LOVE those swing rides!

More to come as I get through them!
