St. Louis

Back in October I decided to take some photos of St. Louis before I moved.  I lived in St. Louis for three years, so I wanted to make sure I left with some images of the city.  It recently occurred to me that I never shared those images, so here you go.  A couple of these are being displayed in my house as we speak, invoking good memories every time I look at them.  And yes, the frog is one of them.  It’s even framed.  True story.

Inspiration

I’ve heard them called “wedding porn.”  They’re those websites that provide all sorts of ideas for wedding details for those who are getting married, and anyone else who just likes weddings.  I’ve seen some good photo ideas on them, too, which is why I’ve bookmarked more than one of these sites in the past.  If you’re still planning and need inspiration, check out one of the following links:

Style Me Pretty

This image is one of the Inspiration Boards from The Inspired Bride that I think is pretty :)  I know there are a TON more – so if you’ve got a good one, leave it in the comments field!

Congrats Kelly + Joe!

Their wedding has been selected by The Knot magazine to appear in the 2010 Fall/Winter issue!  You can see more of their beautiful October wedding HERE!

Whoa. That was fast.

I think I just became a bride.

I’ve been on The Knot hundreds of times.  I’ve looked through all the ads, read the advice columns, browsed the forums.  But I’ve always viewed the content through the eyes of an “industry professional,” and likened it to market research.  So today I hopped onto the Colorado section, scoping to see which other photographers advertise in my area and what their ads look like.  Just a little business research on a Sunday afternoon.  Harmless.

But then I saw the tab (conveniently asterisked – good work Knotties) for Ceremony and Reception Sites.  And I clicked it.  I started looking at venues, and not in the photo-curious way I usually do.  I started, like, looking.

To all my friends who have excitedly asked “Have you started planning?” my answer has been a consistent “Ugh, no.”  Well my friends, you can rejoice.  Apparently the bride switch has been flipped.

Uruguay

Once again I fell victim to my own tragic travel flaw – I never take enough photos at the last stop.  Poor Helsinki had this issue, and now Uruguay.  We stopped in several beautiful places in Uruguay – Montevideo, Colonia, Piriapolis.  And yet the only photos I have from Uruguay are these three shots from the top of the hill in Piriapolis.

For shame, Tracy, for shame.

The beaches in Uruguay caught me off-guard with how stunning they are.  Piriapolis greeted us with soft white sand, clear blue water, and hardly any other tourists because we arrived one week ahead of busy season.  Despite heavy sunscreen application, I did get sunburned on the beach (if you have ever traveled with me you know how easy this is for me to accomplish.)  But I also got engaged on the beach, so I’m not holding a grudge :)

Sorry I don’t have more to share!  Hopefully I’ll learn for my next trip…
