St. Louis Spring Portrait Week!

So I seriously considered doing a portrait marathon day in St. Louis – one of those long days where everyone gets 30 minutes of  my time, and hardly any of my attention.  But let’s be real – how much can you really get out of a 30 minute session?  If nothing else, I want to be able to talk to all of my favorite St. Louis people for more than 30 minutes and catch up on life!  So instead, I’m offering a week of full sessions!

A limited number of appointments will be scheduled during the week of June 9 – June 14th.  We’ll go anywhere you want to have your picture taken and do a full session (none of this mini business!)  You’ll also get a DVD with a high resolution copy of every photo from your session, with no copyright restrictions. I’ve raised prices in Denver to $350 for this kind of session, but for this week in St. Louis it’s only $250!  (You save $100 just ’cause I like you :) ).

These sessions will likely fill up quickly, so please contact me as soon as possible to set up your time!  I’m so excited to shoot in St. Louis!

A little yoga plug

For the last few months I’ve enjoyed a little break from yoga teaching.  It’s so nice to just be a student for a while, and turn off that teacher brain during class.  But now I’m ready to go back to teaching, and I get to do it at the newest branch of the Colorado Athletic Club.  Their new location at the Tabor Center just opened today, and the facility is gorgeous.  If you are a CAC member, or are looking to join, you should stop by for a visit.  And while you’re there you should join me for class :)  I’ll be teaching Warm Vinyasa 6am Mondays and Power  Yoga 7pm Thursdays.  The rest of the schedule is here.  Hope to see you there!

Laurie: Yoga Action Figure

Can you find the yogi in this photo?  We lovingly call Laurie the Yoga Action Figure because she’s so small and bendy.  When she comes to my classes, the other students are usually in awe of her poses.  I guess that happens after you’ve been teaching for as long as she has :)

Laurie is also a social worker, and she’s starting to do some yoga programs with urban youth.  Since it ties into her work (and I love shooting in rundown buildings), I thought it would be very fitting to have her doing the postures in an urban setting.  She was brave for doing crow pose on that metal scaffolding, and side plank in the blue doorway – it was very small!  Good thing yoga gives you excellent balance.

Anyone else looking for yoga photos in the next few weeks should contact me – I’m doing a special for yoga teachers and studios until I leave town!

Yoga for Peace

I won’t be able to attend the event this year (I’ll be shooting Jackie and Greg’s wedding instead!), but wanted to send out info to anyone who is interested.  Yoga for Peace is a non-profit event done all over the world as part of the Global Mala, and is put together locally by Urban Breath Yoga.  Teachers will lead 108 Sun Salutations on September 19th in Tower Grove Park, and there is a Closing Practice on September 20th at the new Ullola Yoga Studio in the Central West End.  Proceeds benefit City Seeds Urban Farm.  You can see images I took at last year’s event HERE.  I hope some of you will make it out!

Namaste, Stacy

Stacy is a yoga bad ass.  (She’s also Mommy to super cute Mika.)  She has a new website launching soon for her private classes, and needed some photos to show off her skills.  We took these shots in the Botanical Gardens yesterday.  I had a great time taking these shots – I only wish I could so some of the crazy arm balances Stacy was doing.  I can do some crazy things myself, but you’ll have to come to one of my classes to see that :)  Speaking of which, yoga in Forest Park on Sundays continues through the end of September – stop by the Visitor’s Center at 10am for a free practice!
